Interwoven Psychotherapy & Liberatory Praxis

Offerings

  • I work with adolescents and adults on a variety of presenting concerns. I have particular clinical experience in working with complex trauma, interpersonal distress, immigration and refugee distress, and exploration of identity. Additionally, an integral part of my practice is working with folks who are gender diverse and/or identify as LGBTQ+.

In our initial sessions, we will focus on getting to know each other better and co-creating an environment that feels safe. Together, we’ll create a space in which you feel heard and seen. As our work continues, we will begin to explore and notice how your life experiences have impacted the way that you engage with others, the world, and your challenges. I am committed to supporting you in your journey of healing, self-exploration, and self-expansion.

  • Relationships are a foundational part of what it means to be human. Just as we navigate the complexities of our own individual journeys, being with others in partnership can bring both joy and messiness. Couples therapy offers a space to explore the intricacies of your connection, working through challenges, and building a deeper understanding of each other. Whether you're facing communication barriers, unresolved conflicts, or seeking to strengthen your bond, therapy provides the tools and support to help you grow together in a healthier, more fulfilling relationship.

Love does not look the same for everyone. I arrive to my practice with the understanding that relationships take many forms. As such, I provide affirming support for polyamorous relationships, open relationships, and other nontraditional partnerships amongst more traditional ones. Similarly, I offer support to partnerships of various intersecting identities and cultures.

  • I offer clinical supervision to mental health professionals who are looking to deepen their understanding of relational psychodynamic principles and their application in practice. Through supervision, I help supervisees explore the dynamic interplay between client and therapist, emphasizing how past relational patterns shape present interactions. In addition, I integrate a strong commitment to anti-oppressive and culturally sensitive care, ensuring that you develop the skills necessary to work with diverse clients in a manner that respects their unique identities, experiences, and cultural backgrounds. Together, we will explore the complexities of your clinical work, enhance your theoretical knowledge, and refine your therapeutic presence while also promoting social justice and inclusivity in your practice.

About me

In parts of the world, there exists a tree that creates a resin—called myrrh—which protects the tree from wounds and threats. Much like the myrrh resin, which is formed through the tree's process of healing, I am of the impression that our most difficult experiences can be transformed into sources of strength and wisdom.

I know what it feels like to exist in spaces where pain is swallowed, where sadness becomes a burden, and where anger feels risky. Early on in my journey, I made a decision to truly understand pain—not just as a sensation, but as a messenger. I believe that in order to bring tenderness to spaces that deem pain an inconvenience, we must first listen to it, understand where it hides, and learn how it needs to be seen. My hope is that from there we can embrace the cyclical nature of growth and renewal, allowing space for healing, understanding, and ultimately transformation.

Pain—individual and collective—is interwoven with growth and finding paths towards liberation. It is part of the very fabric of our journey. In navigating our challenges, we can uncover resilience and deepen our connection to ourselves, others, and our communities.

My Approach

In my work with clients, I aspire to help those I work with engage in curiosity over the multidimensional nature of their experiences — including exploration of issues related to race, gender, sexuality, disability, and class. In this undertaking, my hope is that clients will find exploration of these issues to be an intrinsic part of understanding their experiences and to ultimately finding relief or solutions to their challenges.

Alongside having extensive experience and training in relational psychodynamic therapy, I integrate trauma-informed therapy and mindfulness techniques in my holistic practice. I believe that we come to know ourselves as we explore how our early life experiences influence the ways that we show up in the world and in our relationships with others. Through this lens, I am a firm believer that an authentic and intimate therapeutic relationship can help clients facilitate the growth that they would like to observe in themselves. As such, I work to create a safe environment in which we can explore your internal and interpersonal worlds.
